Contact Uganda

Uganda can be visited year-round due to its equatorial climate. The dry seasons (June–August and December–February) are generally the best times for wildlife viewing and gorilla trekking, as trails are drier and roads more accessible.

Most visitors require a visa to enter Uganda. Visas can be obtained online through the Uganda e-Visa system before travel, or on arrival at Entebbe International Airport. East African Community citizens enjoy special arrangements.

Uganda is generally considered safe for tourists, particularly in tourist areas, national parks, and major cities. As with all travel, standard precautions apply. The Ugandan people are known for their warmth and hospitality towards visitors.

English is Uganda's official language and is widely spoken in cities, schools, and by the tourism industry. Luganda is the most widely spoken local language, but over 40 other languages are spoken across Uganda's diverse ethnic groups.

The Ugandan Shilling (UGX) is the official currency. US Dollars are widely accepted in tourist establishments. ATMs are available in major towns, and mobile money (especially MTN Mobile Money) is widely used throughout the country.
